At Bankfoot, we provide comprehensive, sequential, and progressive curriculum that ensures pupils develop their musical knowledge, skills, and understanding as they move through the school. This intent is underpinned by a strong belief in the value of music education for the holistic development of pupils.

Implementation

The implementation of music education is characterised by effective teaching, learning, and assessment. Skilled and knowledgeable music educators deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire pupils to actively participate in musical activities. The teaching of music is well-resourced, with access to a variety of musical instruments and technology to support pupils’ learning and creativity.

The school promotes a rich musical environment where pupils have opportunities to perform, create, and appreciate music from a range of cultures and traditions. Pupils are encouraged to explore their own musical interests and talents through extra-curricular activities, such as ukulele, keyboard, guitar and band.

The school celebrates pupils’ musical achievements through performances, assemblies, and community events, fostering a culture of musical excellence and pride.
